The world has shifted

I do not see it in the ground, wet with many rains

I do not see it in the still pools, fat with Winter’s clouds

They remain in their repose.

I feel it in my soul, my marrow cries out

for peace once again

Has the world been healed?

Has the end come for us all?

Only tomorrow's silent birth will tell

for now I must sit and wait

Content to muse

As the liquid of my soul settles once again

This change has been beyond the edges of hope for so long

So long have i sat outside my own door, afraid to simply enter

Last night the angel stood before me

I laughed and laid there, bared to the universe

Knowing all was right in the darkened calming night

Yes, the world has shifted, and hope wells up again

Ygdrassil

Our world is a tree, ancient and sturdy
With vital root buried deep in the loving earth
Spreading its myriad branches
beyond the reaches of my mind
Drinking wholly of the Mother's milk
Every tiny leaf, a life
to blow in the unyielding winds of fate
The most delicate branches at the loftiest heights
the leaves that are you and me
Every anthem of change, each song of renewal
whether played on the wind's blessed flute
or carried on the bee's tiny wing
moves not the mighty trunk
but sways the leaves in the current of life
The dance of the seasons goes ever on
Every leaf a minstrel, the tree our stage
This tree stands not alone my friends
Only one of an unknowable gathering
In a shadowed forest standing in grandest silence
The many together dancing in stillness
The festival of the Divine in ever changing color
We are but adornments in this endless revelry
To shine and dance our lives we live
To fly on the winds when the tree sets us free

wherever you may be this lonly morning.....

In this dirty sullen morning

You paint strokes of hope

Across the filthy page

On this tired lonely street

You capture the moment

You send proof to the jury

On this lovely twilight eve

You shine with borrowed fire

the stars are silent, humbled

Morrigan

You come this moonlit night upon glossy wings
Your gown of black opal silken brilliance
Sets this blue night ablaze with diamond

Do You come to peck out my eyes?
Have You come to feast upon my soul?

I stand before You, bared as I must be
To steel my heart with courage
Though fear may lick at the doors of my heart
You honor the strength in my eyes
Though the cold teases my moonlit blue flesh
You behold my bravery at this seat of the Divine

I drink Your wine and the warmth of war fills my veins
I behold Your beauty and the fire of life fills my body

You arm me with Your black feathered helm
To guard against the ignorance of the unwise

You shield me with Your woven shield of cunning
To overcome any puzzling circumstance

You grant me Your Royal kiss
The gift of wisdom, Your strategies hot within my head

I sit in praise of You, a soldier in your army
Fighting back the chaos of the world
Reborn this holy night

I honor You, this blessed night and every night!

In praise of the All-Father

A guest I am in your great and wondrous house
I warm my soul by Your blazing hearth-fires

This sacred night when you are close
You walk my humble grove
Your whisper, now to me a roar
This hunter's call in shining light

I am filled at your ever-bearing feasting board
My cup bears more than I can drink
I rest in warm wisdom and hospitality
A drunkard among the hounds

Strike me down Great Father with your might
Destroy the creeping ignorance in my heart

Strike me again Mighty Lord, Shining Master
Reborn this dark night to sprout and grow

Teach me your ways of cunning fellowship and discernment
Teach me to battle with the foes of peace both within and without

Let me ride along Your side through lands of legend
Your ever-flowing, never-ending feast sustains me

This blessed night and every night!
