7-2-13

I have stood before the gates of the Silent Blue Lords
Humbled by their unfathomable power
Yet steeled by my small humanity

The hammer within my heart
The wolf's cry
The sparkling scale
We stand together in pulsing warm defiance

This hushed temple
Where the stars are within my grasp
The sky a stony cloister
This apparent tomb is the maker of greatness

We stand in awe of the stoic darkness
And laugh as our foolish blood rushes
Boiling in our veins

Hail to Thee, tiny Lords
Let your lanterns light the night
In shameful shadowed moments
When Hatred seems my only friend
You blind me with your simple truths

You expose my absurd tears
To Magic Nature's perfect plan
In Twilight's hour, Your brilliant beauty
Leads me once again
Along the path from which I've strayed

I have watched glass
Raining from the sky
The whispered midnight promises
Of oath takers still unseen

Mingling with the dancing flakes
Where the children of Gods and men
Feast upon the spoils won
In winter's wars of mind and hand
Groaning casks of ripe spring rains
Lie unsettled in the burgeoning earth
While Mother Winter sprinkles upon us
The last of her sparkling blessings

In Praise of Brigid

A sacred flame is burning bright beneath the pure clear waters
This glory shine in twilight time sparks the stars to light

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

My mind this flame, Your shining torch with wisdom set to blaze
A beacon to the winding roads Your ivory feet have blessed

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

My tranquil body is the waters deep and royal blue
Swiftly run the silent currents through bone and stable earth

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

From my trembling core, sprouts forth the Holy Oak
A bridge to span the quiet night between the sky and sea

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

I am the sacred temple where Your golden throne resides
The total plan of many worlds laid out in flesh and skin

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

Strike my soul, it shines white hot, Your hammer heartens me
Your hallowed forge, this place of craft, my sprit grows in strength

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

Your quickened hands with healing touch the herb and then to skin
Draw forth the poison from the wound, the shadows into light

I am a drunkard, From Your cup
I am the wheat grown in Your field
I am the iron set aglow

Yule Song

I sit alone on solstice night
to sing the songs and dance the rite
With bared blue skin and shiv'ring hand
I draw the blade to praise this land
By glowing flame and sparkling well
my humble prayers with You to dwell
I lay upon the frozen ground
while red robed birds, they dance the round
At Ladies' hearth and Father's door
This Solstice wine I now do pour
Lord's of North they bring the gale
to carry smoke and chants of Hail!
The Flaming Lady brings me heat
While Hammer Handed now to greet
Lord of Seas to open wide
To bridge the worlds the wounds divide
Flowing forth with streaming love
Life's glowing waters from above
Now falling back upon the Earth
This drunkard's mind will spin in mirth
I watch the branch's perfect script
Writ in stars and midnight dipped
I've drunk with Gods and Ladies bright
And kept the Ways this solstice Night

In the shadow of Giants

 It is indescribable

to experience the presence of the living Divine

to touch Your ancient ageless countenance

to sit at Your feet and be silent next to You

to Pour wine in Your cup as your humblest vassal

to pull out my hair and offer my beggars sacrifice

to dance around You in delirious exaltation

There is no ritual to invoke Your presence

Only toil and readiness will open the path

In this land of wonders I have found You

You set my soul free to wander as Your beloved

You have granted me Your far-sighted vision

You have planted your seed within me

and I am now rooted in the vast blue sky

There is a molten sliver
A magnificent scar upon the grey sky
Alight with the Twilight Gods
Draped with fiery revelries
In this quiet moment
While Holy Waters flow
I scream Your shadowy name
I call upon the healing rains
I dance like Thunder's Brother
The Red One burns within me
His flaming intention scars my mind
Igniting my soul like kindling
Late summer's glorious fire
Written across the sky
Written across my heart
